Our client is a leading equipment manufacturer in their field. Selling direct and through a small network of distributors they are looking for a warehouse coordinator to join their small but growing business. There will be opportunities to develop your career and share in their success.
About the role:
Reporting to the Operations Manager, they are looking for someone who is committed to delivering an outstanding level of service, who has the drive and determination to succeed. The logistics and warehouse coordinator, will ensure the safe receipt, storage and dispatch of goods including organizing their basic (curb-side) deliveries. Duties include taking organizing and sending equipment, delivery of shipments, checking goods for damage or missing items and storing warehouse goods in an organised manner.
Main Duties:
No two days will be the same and the duties are, but not limited to, the following:
- Unloading shipping container (1-2 per month) and position on racking within warehouse. Reach truck/forklift experience is advantageous.
- Ensuring that all goods that are loaded or unloaded match the relevant paperwork
- Taking responsibility for a company’s freight and assets by reporting any suspicious activity at work
- Storing and rotating stock according to established procedures
- Reporting any damaged or missing goods to Supervisors
- Keeping the warehouse environment clean and tidy and maintaining equipment
- Following workplace health and safety rules when handling goods
- Ensuring efficient operations by adhering to operational procedures, rules and schedules
- Working alongside the Operations Manager to manage warehouse inventory controls, implementing new processes such as hand-held scanner technology.
- Managing the ‘basic delivery’ process for orders in partnership with after sales administrator
- Managing warranty swap requests and overseeing agreed return and dispatch of goods
- Supporting the marketing team with the processing and tracking of equipment and show materials to ensure it is sent out to events and received back into the warehouse.
- Treating merchandise with care and concern at all times
- Operating reach truck
Key Skills/Experience:
- Warehouse experience in a similar role is preferred but not essential
- Reach truck or forklift experience is preferred although training can be provided
- Computer literate – email/database input experience essential.
- SAP or equivalent MRP system (Accountancy and Resource Planning Software Package) preferred but not essential
- Excellent team-working skills to effectively collaborate with other members of the Ops team
- Working knowledge of how to use scanners and relevant software programs, such as warehouse management systems is preferred
- Accurate data entry with a high attention to detail
- Excellent communication skills written and telephone
- Customer service experience
- Excellent organisational skills, should be able to demonstrate a methodical approach and ability to follow processes
- Ability to prioritise and work to deadlines
- GCSE Maths and English
